Getting started
What is Window for?
Window keeps track of things that only come up once in a while — changing an AC filter, rotating tires, renewing a registration, returning a purchase — so you don't have to remember when you last did them or when they're due.
How do I add something?
Tap Add. Pick a suggestion, or type what you want Window to remember. Then choose when it comes back: an interval like Every 60 days, or On a date for a one-time deadline. Tap Add again and you're done.
What's the difference between repeating and one-time items?
A repeating item (like an AC filter every 60 days) is due again a set time after you last did it. A one-time item (like a return window) has a single date; once you mark it done, Window files it away in the archive. You can also have a date that repeats — a registration that renews every year on the same day.
I already did it a while ago. Can I say so?
Yes. When adding a repeating item, change Last done to the right date, and Window works out the next due date from there — including if it's already overdue.
Marking things done
How do I mark something done?
Tap the button on the item — it says what you did, like Changed it for a filter or Returned it for a return, or simply Mark done. You can also swipe right on it in the list, or open it and use the button at the top. Window records the date and schedules the next one.
I marked something done by mistake.
Tap Undo in the message that appears. If it's too late for that, open the item, find the entry under History, and swipe left to remove it — Window restores the previous date.
Where do finished one-time items go?
To the archive, in Settings → Archived. You can restore or delete them there.
Reminders
When will Window remind me?
In the morning before something is due — a few days ahead for most things, and earlier for things that need more notice, like a registration (a month and a week before) or a passport (six months and a month before) — and again on the day. You can change how early for each item. Window doesn't send reminders once something is overdue, and never sends anything else.
I'm not getting reminders.
Check Settings → Notifications → Window on your iPhone and make sure notifications are allowed, then check that Remind me when things are due is on in Window's own settings. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, so they work without an internet connection.
Widgets
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and choose Window. There are Lock Screen widgets too. The widget shows what's due next.
Earlier versions
I used Window before 2.0. Where did my windows go?
Nowhere — they're under No schedule on the home screen, with their full history. Each still shows how long it's been, and Begin again works as before. You can add a schedule to any of them, or leave them exactly as they are.
Window+ and your data
What does Window+ include?
Unlimited items (the free version keeps up to five active at once) and a custom icon for each item. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Open Settings → Restore purchase in Window, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.
Is my data backed up or synced?
Window keeps everything on your iPhone and doesn't sync between devices. Your items are included in your iPhone's regular iCloud or computer backup, so restoring a backup to a new phone brings them along.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual items from their page, or delete the app to remove everything. Window never sends your data anywhere — see the privacy policy.
